This review should have begun with, “During the holidays, a girl wants her eyes to pop and stay that way all night…”, but like many of you, I was too crazy busy to have my eyes do anything, so even though the All Eyes On You set is no longer available through Sephora (*I think*), all of the products inside are part of MUFE’s core line. What’s nice is that all of the products included are full size and not minis.
MAKE UP FOR EVER “All Eyes On You” is a limited edition holiday kit that features five of
MAKE UP FOR EVER’s best-selling products to create a beautiful holiday make up look from
start to finish. Complete with application instructions, this kit will teach you how to create a
flawless day-to-night look.
The kit includes:
Aqua Eyes #0L Mat Black
Aqua Eyes #21L Dark Grey
Aqua Cream #16 Pink Beige
HD Microfinish Powder
Smoky Lash Mascara
Price: $65 CDN
Packaging: Fairly standard for the eye pencils and mascara. The HD Microfinish Powder is in a jar with a sifter top which is thankfully big enough to dip a mini buffing brush into.
Formula: I usually experience plenty of tugging when using waterproof eyeliners and was expecting the same with these, but the Aqua Eyes eyeliners are supposed to be waterproof and are surprisingly smooth to apply. I’m talking Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner smooth! I did notice fading along my waterline about 5 hours later. I have yet to find an eyeliner that stays on my waterline all day, but Aqua Eyes bought me an extra hour or two.
As for the Aqua Cream, I have reviewed this product in the past and I definitely prefer Pink Beige to the purple I had before as it is much more wearable for everyday. I found that this colour applied much more smoothly than the colour I reviewed before. Pink Beige was very blendable and once dry, has the same incredible lasting power!
I don’t have too much to say about the Smoky Lash Mascara as I didn’t find the brush to be anything special. The formula was quite smooth and didn’t leave clumps in my lashes like some other mascaras do.
The item I was most curious about was the HD Microfinish Powder which has been touted among beauty bloggers as one of the ones to try. It is a translucent finishing powder that is can either applied over foundation or worn alone. It gave my skin a look of subtle softness and looked amazingly natural. Like I hadn’t put anything on at all, it was so light!
And to put it all together, here is my attempt!
Foundation: Make Up For Ever – Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation (Review coming!)
Blush: Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Adored
Lips: Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouge in #2
Final Verdict: The set itself is a fantastic value as buying each of these products individually would cost $109! Although the Aqua Eyes eyeliner lasted longer than what I’m using now, I don’t think I would go rushing out to pick this up again. My favourite products from this set were definitely the HD Microfinish Powder and the Aqua Cream eye shadow. I was a fan of the Aqua Cream’s durability back when I had reviewed it and I still agree that it is one of the best waterproof eye colours out there. The HD Microfinish Powder felt so light on my face and enhanced my skin enough to give me a natural glow. You don’t need very much and a 5g jar is $17.00 on Sephora which I find to be quite affordable!
All products individually available at SEPHORA stores and the MAKE UP FOR EVER Boutique.
