NAIL POLISH | OPI 50 Shades of Grey Collection–Swatches, Review and Nail Art with “My Silk Tie” and "Dark Side of the Mood"

The countdown to Valentine's Day is ON and in continuing with the OPI 50 Shades of Grey love from last week (previous review), no collection from this book is complete with some actual SHADES OF GREY.

 

"Dark Side of the Moon" is a "brooding, dark stormy charcoal" which was opaque in 2 easy coats. No complaints from me about this colour!

For nail art, I decided to make triangle and tie-shaped nail decals with "My Silk Tie", described as a "silky, gleaming silver" and was streaky on the first coat, but looks seamless enough upon second coat.

 

If you're wondering how to make your nail decals, just paint a roughly rectangular area of nail polish on to a sandwich baggie and once dry give it layer of top coat. Then, just cut out whatever shapes you want! Using an exacto knife, I cut out some triangles and two ties and then using tweezers, gently placed them on my nail.

For the ties, I hand-painted the hearts and stripes with a nail art brush "Dark Side of the Mood" and "Romantically Involved". I drew in some handcuffs and my manicure was complete!
