Would you look at that? Jayne has a review up that's ON TIME for something that has just come out! Well, that's because I was so impressed by these that I wanted/needed to share with you guys like RIGHT now. These are brand new to the SEPHORA COLLECTION and yes the product name actually has a hashtag in it. The #Lipstories Lipsticks retail for just $10 each and come in 40 shades with three finishes: matte, cream and metallic. The tagline reads that "this is lipstick for real life, not just ring lights" which I sort of get, but not really because along with some fairly normal "real-life" shades, there are some that really only suit a camera makeup look or a work day at Sephora (no offense, but you all know what I mean). Marketing aside, I do love the underlying message of enjoying life and having an adventure all with these incredible shades on your lips because ladies and gents, they really are fantastic!

I had posted on my IG stories that I was swatching these in store last week and was comparing them to the new Fenty Beauty Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipsticks ($23 CDN). They were pretty much identical in terms of colour payoff with the #Lipstories having a smoother texture. The Mattemoiselles had a sticky matte formula which I am sure would have helped with longer wear time, but with the way the lipstick tugged on the skin on my hand, I can only imagine what this formula would have done to my lips.
After wanting to buy 10 shades of #Lipstories, Gerry convinced me not to be a psycho and just get shades I would actually wear which led me to: Celebrate (matte), First Class (matte) and Oui! (cream). These come housed in pink plastic cases with cardboard caps with each cap having the name and finish of the lipstick as well as a unique picture related to the lipstick name (cute!).
Look at how social media ready this lipstick bullet is! I can honestly say that I have never had a hashtag on my actual lipstick. The cream finish is pigmented, smooth and one that I was VERY happy with. Wear time was what I would have expected for a cream lipstick at a solid couple of hours before starting to fade.
The matte finish is more like a satin finish as it still leaves a slight shine to the lips and does not dry them out. The pigmentation is amazing, but there is colour transfer though never enough to make the colour disappear completely from the lips.
These swatches are one swipe with the LIGHTEST amount of pressure. SO IMPRESSED FOR THE PRICE.
Celebrate is a surprisingly wearable annoyingly bright magenta and I love it.
Oui! is one of those easy creamy neutrals that you know will go with your makeup look and be your lips, but better.
First Class is a bright orange that like Celebrate, is very wearable! I think Celebrate looks a touch better with my skin tone, but damn is it ever nice too!
Final verdict: It's no surprise that I am ending this by telling you all to get these! The price point is basically DRUGSTORE and the quality is rivaling brands that we pay double for. The shades are both eclectic and wearable and are mega pigmented! I feel like my beauty life has been enriched having these lipsticks in my collection and though I may add a few more, I will be wearing these three shades like nobody's business.
